Mark J. James is the Principal and founder of ED Solutions, Inc. and a founder of Development Results, LLC, a leading provider of economic development web site metrics. Mark provides web site reviews, rfp development, redesign advisory services and consults with the profession on tech-based applications for economic development. He is one of the most sought-after instructors of economic development professionals and a popular speaker at state, regional and national events.  He has served as an advisor on the development or redesign of some of the most effective economic development web sites in the profession, including those for the British Midlands, Nashville, Tennessee Valley Authority, Philadelphia, Detroit, and the States of Washington and Ohio. Mark also supports economic development for utilities since he was the Director of Economic Development for American Electric Power (AEP), one of the largest investor-owned electric utility companies in the United States, prior to starting ED Solutions, Inc.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Edinboro State University in Pennsylvania and a Master of Science from Oregon State University.  He is also a graduate of the University of Michigan's Graduate School of Business Executives Program.
